The 50 franchise websites listed here passed my test.
I pretended that I was a consumer searching for a franchise to buy.
I went to Google, and typed in a few franchise business categories.
I clicked franchises that were listed in both organic and paid search.
In addition, I chose several random franchise opportunity websites to locate franchises for sale, picked a few, and visited those websites.
I ended up looking at hundreds of franchise websites over a 2-week period.
For 6 short seconds.
If I liked what I saw, and felt that I could quickly learn about the opportunity, the website passed my test.
First Impressions Count On Franchise Websites
According to Peep Laja from Conversion XL:
“People make snap judgments. It takes only 1/10th of a second to form a first impression about a person, and websites are no different. It takes about 50 milliseconds (that’s 0.05 seconds) for users to form an opinion about your website that determines whether they like your site or not, whether they’ll stay or leave.”
You should read his post about the importance of great visual design and usability.
Studies have also shown that visitors will judge your business and make a decision on it based only on the look and feel of your company website. In a split second, they’ll decide whether they trust what you’re offering and believe you can provide them with the information they’re looking for.
Is that fair?
Are some prospective franchise owners missing out on some great opportunities (like yours) because they clicked away from a website that didn’t get the job done for them?
Take a look at each of the top 50 franchise websites below. I’ve separated them by category; they’re not ranked in any particular order.
But, they are the best franchise business websites.

As I explained, today’s consumers make split-second decisions on whether or not to stay on a website. The websites listed here will keep potential franchise owners on their sites.
Unless these top websites can be easily found when a potential franchise owner does a search on Google or Bing for a franchise to buy, design and ease of use go right out the window.
Your website needs to be found.
You should read my franchise blog post about Spiders.
